Round Mountain Ranch 4-H Horse Camp

North Carolina Equestrian CommunitiesSummer is almost here and Caldwell County is excited to remind folks about its 4-H Nature camps for kids and youth. The North Carolina 4-H Horsemanship Camp is held every June. The camp teaches children and youth how to enhance their horseback riding skills and improve their riding technique. The camp is situated amongst North Carolina equestrian communities where North Carolina mountain homes and attractive horse property lay the perfect backdrop for riding lessons, trail rides, and western gaming styles alike.

Caldwell County and 4-H Youth Development work together to use horses as a means of providing education to young students. Children crave learning new skills and the programs offered here are empowering youth and teaching them invaluable proficiencies all while offering interactive programs, summer camps and educational enrichment in a fun and captivating way.

Below is a list of the Caldwell County 4-H Club/Programs offered for kids and youth:

Summer Explorin’
The 4-H Summer Explorin’ programs offer interactive, educational and fun activities for youth.

Saddle Club
This program is for kids ages 5-18 and members will learn to ride as well as learn how to manage a stable.

Giddy On Up Horse Club
This club is designed for kids ages 5 and up. Children will learn about horses and horsemanship through field trips, trail rides as well as fun workshops.

4-H Explorers
This club is for children ages 5-12 and focuses on organizing activities with parental involvement.

Fish & Wildlife 4-H Club
This group if designed for youth ages 13-19 and focuses on community service and project record development.

Grits & Growls
For ages 9+, members will actually be able to cultivate club projects and activities.

Robotics Club
Ages 8+. Through weekly meetings, youth will work on building robots and entering contests.

Voyage 4-H Club
Designed for kids ages 5 and up, members will help to create topics and activities with the assistance of parents.

Round Mountain Ranch gives a true equestrian experience. The ranch boosts 8 stalls alongside gorgeous Johns River where residents can experience horseback riding amongst the rolling mountains foothills. Round Mountain Ranch has 13 miles of horse friendly, scenic trails that lead to cascading waterfalls and beautiful mountainside landscape. The full service ranch offers an array of a-la-carte equestrian amenities such as veterinary services, riding lessons, select feed services, turnout and pasture rotation, as well as round-pen training.

Round Mountain Ranch has horse trails for all skill levels. The Highland River Trail is 10 miles of trail that run along the Johns River down to Mila Cascading Falls. The Magnolia Trail is more adventurous 3 mile trail with increasing elevations. When you approach the end of the trail, you will be overlooking Johns River and Coleton’s Swimming Hole.
