yoga classes in Lenoir NC

Folks who live in the idyllic private mountain communities of North Carolina understand the importance of healthy living.  This fabulous region, with plenty of outdoor recreation just outside our North Carolina mountain homes, provides us with gorgeous terrain and trails to ski, snow shoe, hike, climb and stroll, fabulous rivers to paddle, fish and swim, and four glorious seasons to breathe in all that sweet, fresh mountain air.

And, of course, our charming towns in North Carolina also provide the private mountain communities with plenty of wholesome recreation, like Thai Yoga—true inspiration for all of us who need a little companionship, guidance and motivation.

At Quest4Life Wellness Center, a division of Caldwell Memorial Hospital, located at 1031 Morganton Blvd SW, you can take half hour or full hour Thai Yoga classes, and feel the undeniable benefits to both your body and your mind.

• Member Non- Member Half Hour Session–$30.00; $35.00

• One Hour Session $50.00; $55.00

Quest4Life is a state-of-the-art community wellness facility, with a certified fitness staff, who can assist guests from the private mountain communities in the area.  Many people take advantage of their professional fitness assessments and individualized training sessions, as well as their informative programs centered around living a healthy life.  Their mission is “to help people of all ages, backgrounds and levels of health and fitness to enjoy daily routines of improving overall health and fitness.”  Both personal and group training sessions are available to get you and your friends and family in peak condition.

Scholars believe yoga dates back to the Stone Age when it was used for healing.

Whether you’ve been practicing yoga for years, or you’ve been tempted to try it out, Lenoir has options for people of all ages and levels.  Yoga’s meaning is to unite, and the community residing comfortably in North Carolina mountain homes is undeniably a close-knit group.  Practicing yoga in a group is just one of the many incredible ways folks connect in the quaint Blue Ridge Mountain towns.

CMS’s Thai Yoga continues an ancient healing art that helps you to stretch and relax with a reliable partner’s care.  More than two thousand years back this healing practice is thought to have begun in India.  In time Thai Yoga migrated to Thailand. Thai Yoga “is both a meditation and an offering of sublime kindness,” according to Quest4Life and the practice “creates a deep feeling of relaxation, vitality, and renewal.”

There are many modern yoga styles that are practiced today and people who incorporate the healthy routine into their lives reap noticeable physiological benefits–better sleep, immunity, endurance, strength, flexibility, balance, digestion and energy. Psychologically, those who practice yoga enjoy a better mood and a greater sense of well-being, along with greater ability to focus and learn.  Stress decreases while peace of mind grows.  And biochemically, people who regularly practice yoga decrease sodium, cholesterol and glucose–which helps in fighting disease as we age.

And don’t forget there are plenty of other options at this amazing facility.  For those with North Carolina mountain homes, the Quest4Life Wellness Center offers:

• safe, indoor walking track and exercise equipment

• indoor pool, sauna and steam room

• power ride indoor cycling

• Pilates, Yoga circuit & other classes

• childcare and family fun activities

• massage therapy

For those of us who live at The Coves, yoga classes are just beyond our front door, at Pisgah Mountain Lodge, our mountaintop clubhouse. Yoga is offered on Monday mornings to provide a healthy and enriching start to the week.

What better then to practice yoga at 1,700 ft elevation with views of Grandfather Mountain and the Blue Ridge Mountains? Talk about bliss! This amazing clubhouse has a fitness center, with cardio and weight equipment, and a saline infinity-view swimming pool and hot tub where you can soak your muscles after an intensive workout.  Not many people can take in such incredible views while working out, and The Coves had this in mind when they choose this idyllic spot for the Pisgah Mountain Lodge.

Come visit and relax in our grand living room at the Lodge, grab a drink, and watch millions of stars illuminate the nighttime sky above the pristine landscape.
