Join the Fun – The Coves First Turkey Trot on November 10th

The Coves Mountain River Club is kicking off a new tradition in 2018—its very first 5k Turkey Trot Walk/Run! This November 10 at nine in the morning, the folks at our charming gated community, as well as the dedicated staff, will be gathering to collect much-needed food for the Caldwell County Yokefellow.
No matter your fitness level, you can joyfully participate–while also getting yourself in the holiday spirit. All you need for an entrance fee is 6 non-perishable food items—think holiday! Whole berry cranberry sauce, pecans, walnuts, or other holiday nuts for baking, snacking and cooking, canned pumpkin pie filler, traditional sage stuffing mix, or some home style gravy—the Thanksgiving’s sky is the limit!
The Turkey Trot starts at the gorgeous Pisgah Mountain Lodge, where so many festive events happen at The Coves, with enchanting views of the mountains as our scenic backdrop. The fun run ends at the Phase 1 Gate, and then we’ll gather back at the Lodge for some amazing refreshments to replenish your energy while you chat and socialize with your friends and neighbors. Whether you plan on walking, running, or volunteering, please call 828.754.0700 right away and add this event to your list of fun things to do in Lenoir NC.
In order to make our first Turkey Trot Walk/Run a success, we need to know who plans on participating. We will need a minimum of 15 volunteers for setup, registration, donation collection, water stations, traffic control and to give rides to participants from the Phase 1 Gate back to the Lodge. This is a perfect and job for Coves’ residents who own UTVs. In addition, The Coves Mountain River Club will provide t-shirts for all, and we need numbers so the order can be placed.
Be sure to stick around to see the prizes that will be awarded to the youngest male and female, and the oldest male and female who finish the 5k.
Thank you in advance for keeping the community spirit alive and well at The Coves– especially during the holiday season.
