The Coves Mountain River Club is now offering horse owners an opportunity to own a beautiful home site where community stabling and pastures, pasture lots for horse farm homesites, and even shared equestrian amenities at our new equestrian facility are available with your purchase in our community. With over 25 miles of unmatched riding and walking trails available, it's not uncommon for rider, horse, and hiker to share the wonderful grounds that makes our property such a rich and vibrant experience. Our North Carolina Mountain Retreat is such a great environment to own, stable, raise, and even breed horses with our abundant fresh air, flowing mountain streams, and wide-open spaces.

At The Coves Mountain River Club we are proud to announce another unique feature of our integrated active adult community, an Equestrian Center, complete with stables, paddocks, pastures, and of course amazing community trails and mountain views. This new area in the community is actually a redeveloped golf course being developed to accommodate our equestrian expansion. Choose from building your own horse farm facility or take advantage of our, contiguous Equestrian Center, to accommodate owners and their horses. We currently have 80 lots left in the community and roughly 50% of them are ideal for horse enthusiasts. Here at The Coves, we have so much to be thankful for, and providing equestrian facilities that are equally shared by tenants will give our community an added dimension not found in many gated mountain communities.
It could be said that with all the housing choices offered here at our mountain retreat, which include mountain cottages, cabins, houses and homesites, our equestrian lots are what set us apart from other North Carolina mountain communities. We have created an uncompromised living community which allows many of us to live like we are always on vacation. From the comfort of your own home or from a short walk, your horse is always accessible for walking, riding, grazing, grooming, feeding and care, boarded in stables and ready for occupancy. Our collective goal is the health, safety and of course well-being of your horse and we have thoughtfully designed our Equestrian Center to please every resident, horse, and owner. Your horse deserves the very best and we can’t think of a place more suited to enjoy the richness of horse ownership than here at The Coves Mountain River Club. With an unspoiled perfect getaway surrounded by tens of thousands of acres of protected national forest, we have truly created a paradise for those who love horses. The Barn has stalls available on a first-come, first-serve basis. This is not a full-service boarding environment but a self-care facility that is operated like a co-op. That said, there are well-qualified locals that are available to help provide daily care to horses on a daily or as-needed basis. The costs of such services shall be negotiated with these individuals. The barn offers fully enclosed stalls, tack room, washroom, and run-ins. The pasture space is adequate for the number of barn stalls. That said, for those that want to keep their horses a little closer to home but enjoy the community trail system, there are approximately 40 lots with adequate pasture for 1-4 horses, depending on the pasture lot.
