Broyhill Civic Center Lenoir

• Puddingstone 

Puddingstone formed first as a trio of percussion, hammered dulcimer, harp and flutes and has grown to a 6-7 member band including vocals, guitar, synthesizer and sometimes fiddle, playing Americana classics to Celtic, folk, New Age, Flamenco and some classical selections.

• American Spiritual Ensemble  

“Comprised of some of the finest classically trained singers in the United States, the mission of the American Spiritual Ensemble is to keep the American Negro spiritual alive. Since its inception by Dr. Everett McCorvey in 1995, the vocalists have thrilled audiences around the world with their dynamic repertoire ranging from spirituals to classical to jazz and Broadway numbers highlighting the Black experience.

The American Spiritual Ensemble is unique in that over 90% of the members are accomplished soloists who have sung in theaters and opera houses world wide, including the Metropolitan Opera, New York City Opera, Houston Grand Opera, and abroad in Italy, Germany, Britain, Scotland, Spain and Japan. The resulting sound of this group is something that choral groups with two or three featured soloists cannot duplicate.”

• The Diary of Anne Frank  

“The talented, local players at Foothills Performing Arts will bring to life the Tony Award-winning play, The Diary of Anne Frank. The haunting story, based on Frank’s memoirs, chronicles the nearly two year time period that Anne and her family spend in hiding to escape Nazi persecution in World War II era Holland.”

• A Temptations Revue featuring Bo Henderson  

“Motown  featuring former lead singer of the Temptations and Grammy Award winner Barrington ‘Bo’ Henderson (1998-2003), one of the only Temptations lead singers to have received a Grammy. This dynamic and driving show spans more than a decade of Temptations classics, every one of these songs among the most recognizable and culture-defining songs in pop music history Motown.”

 • Mnozil Brass        

Mnozil Brass is an Austrian brass septet, “playing classical, jazz and other styles of music using traditional brass instruments and more unusual instruments such as the customized rotary valved trumpet and bass trumpet. Music is presented with a typical Austrian style of humor, which can be approximately characterized as “jet black” and “here and there” absurd. Elements of slapstick exist next to virtuosic brass playing.”

 • Caldwell Traditional Musicians Showcase  

“Celebrating its 20th Anniversary, the Caldwell Traditional Musicians Showcase hosted by local favorite Strictly Clean and Decent will feature several local musicians who help keep the community’s rich history of traditional music alive today. Don’t miss the 20th Annual Caldwell Traditional Musicians Showcase.” 

Local food buffet dinner available prior to the show at 6pm; $15 per person.

• Victor Wooten

“Five-time Grammy Award-winning musician Victor Wooten has been called the most influential bassist since Jaco Pastorius. He is a master innovator of the bass guitar, gifted composer, arranger, producer, vocalist, multi instrumentalist and founding member of Bela Fleck & The Flecktones. Never satisfied with the status quo, Vic is always growing as a person, artist, teacher and always willing to share his gifts with all who desire to learn. His legendary live shows continues the tradition of funkified virtuosity forged by James Brown, Funkadelic and Prince.”

 • The Odd Couple

“Unger and Madison are at it again! Florence Unger and Olive Madison, that is, in Neil Simon’s hilarious contemporary comic classic: the female version of The Odd Couple. Instead of the poker party that begins the original version, Ms. Madison has invited the girls over for an evening of Trivial Pursuit. The Pidgeon sisters have been replaced by the two Constanzuela brothers. But the hilarity remains the same.”
