Vickie Setzer, co-owner, was voted Best Bartender during Lenoir’s News-Topic’s 2015 Best of Caldwell competition, and 1841 received Best Night Spot and Best Local Beer awards.

Other than the line dancing on Tuesday nights, this historic café, nestled in a three-story building that went up in 1903, is the gathering spot for bluegrass, folk rock, jazz and Dixie. This is the place to be to hear lively music from both local and touring bands every night. Many top-notch musicians gather at 1841, some brand new and others well-seasoned and familiar to the stage.
This cafe is also the host location for the Caldwell JAM (Junior Appalachian Musicians) classes, Live Music and Spoken Word, ant The Singer & Songwriter’s Series at Tucker’s Barn.
