“If you build what, who will come???”

Most of us remember the iconic movie Field of Dreams and the famous quote “If you build it, he will come”. That quote has been a favorite of many to be used in any forward planning of new projects. However, as we conclude construction on our $1.4 million Pisgah Mountain Lodge, there couldn’t be a more terrifying thought to ponder, “Who will come?”. In the midst of this challenging economic climate we push forward. In the past three years we have continued to pave roads, install underground utilities, build picnic pavilions, create vineyards, develop an organic community garden, construct our equestrian program with stable, paddocks and pasture, as well as design our Coves Collection of turn-key cabins and build our model. All while watching our property owners begin building their dreams here in the form of their retirement home or second home. The progress we are challengingly determined to succeed at, has only been matched by our industry partners desire for success. With the commitment of Timber Block and Moss-Marlow and their dedication to this 3600 acre master planned community, our vision has become a reality. Our community is blessed by several key relationships with our preferred builders, vendors and professionals that continue to encourage and support us. The grand opening of our Pisgah Mountain Lodge, which is perched high upon our Flint Ridge summit with 360 degree views of the Blue Ridge Mountains will be Saturday, August 13th. This will be a fabulous day of celebration and a great opportunity to meet all of the people who made this possible. So, the question “who will come?”, we hope it is you!

Oh I miss those views! Although when we lived in Waynesville our townhouse was down a litlte hollow so we didn’t have that kind of view from the house. But I drove to Asheville to work every day & it was always so gorgeous. I didn’t appreciate it then like I should have.My husband & I honeymooned in Maggie Valley in a not very cold December 19 years ago. We had no idea then that we’d live nearby (we were living near Raleigh at the time). We definitely look fondly back on that time my husband getting his Masters at Western Carolina & me working in Asheville
