Four legs. Big hearts. To look into a horse’s eye is to see the American spirit. A gentle giant willing to obey and longing to be loved. Whether you’re an avid rider or a novice with a thirst for adventure, our ‘horse whisper’ is here to enhance your experience.
Our Equestrian Director is available to assist our residents with equine needs in our equestrian community. The eight stall red barn along the Johns River is where it all began. Our equestrian center has high vaulted ceilings, padded barn flooring, a tack room, and 8 acres of pasture.
In addition to the equestrian center within the community for the benefit of residents with horses, The Coves offers larger home sites that were designed for horse owners to board their horses on their home site. These parcels range from 4.5 to 30 acres and all include improved pastures. The minimum improved pasture per site is 1 acre and some parcels offer pasture in excess of 4 acres.
Most of these equestrian parcels include spring fed streams that meander through the parcel and pasture areas. For those that wish to keep their horse on their home site but desire assistance caring for their horses on a full time or part time basis, the Coves would be happy to refer assistance.
With 6.5 miles of ‘horse friendly’ trails leading to four community parks and four cascading waterfalls, riders never have to leave our equestrian community for a scenic ride. We have two scenic horse trails:
Highland River Trail – 5 miles starting from the lodge, passing by several streams and waterfalls, brings riders down to the Johns River at Mila Cascading Falls
Magnolia Trail – 1.5 miles starting at the pasture goes up in elevation about 100ft overlooking the Johns River, deep into the woods and back down to Coleton’s Swimming Hole
With mild four season weather in the foothills, it makes Round Mountain Ranch an ideal year round home for your four legged friend. Equestrian land parcels are available in our community.
